Working Together

We discuss the people and situations that could carry the film, the access you have and the decisions ahead. Send a treatment, project plan, research notes or early footage.

The fee includes advance reading of up to twenty pages of project materials and viewing of up to twenty minutes of selected footage. We work from one submitted version. Additional material, rewriting and further rounds of feedback are agreed separately.

I watch the cut at least twice. We discuss structure, point of view, rhythm and the relationship between scenes, then identify alternatives to test in the edit.

For a development or rough cut consultation, we agree the scope and timing before work begins. After preparation, we meet online for two hours. The director can join alone or with the editor and producer. You receive a written report of two to three pages within five working days.

Before you send the material, we agree what I will read or watch and when the session will take place. Let me know your deadline when you first get in touch.

Single consultation
€800 excluding VAT

Three consultations across one project
€2,100 excluding VAT

The single fee covers preparation, the session and the report. For a rough cut consultation, this includes two viewings of one cut of up to 120 minutes. Longer cuts, series, additional versions and further viewings are quoted separately. Three consultations can be spread across eighteen months; the same material limits apply to each consultation.

Rewrite existing treatment or project plan
from €1,500 excluding VAT

Full project plan written from existing research/materials
usually €3,000–€5,000 excluding VAT

We agree the scope, available material and deadline in advance. On a given project, I take on either independent consultation or writing.

One-hour consultation
€250 excluding VAT

A one-hour conversation about a specific question in your project. Includes advance reading of up to five pages or viewing of up to twenty minutes of selected material, followed by a short written note. If you would like to combine text and footage, we agree the scope beforehand. Full-length rough cuts and further rounds of feedback are quoted separately.
