Original title: Het mysterie van de verdwenen jongen
In 1941, a book titled My Sister and I was published in the United States as the wartime diary of twelve-year-old Dirk van der Heide. But what became of its author? I follow the traces of the boy and the book, investigating the story behind its publication and the uncertain boundary between testimony and fiction.
