I teach research, filming and editing, and supervise documentary projects. In Film & Ethics, students work through concrete decisions about filming, consent and the people in their films.

I work with filmmakers through individual project consultations, practical filmmaking exercises and group discussions. We look for a project’s central tension, point of view and cinematic form, and test those choices against the material. Questions of authorship and ethics are part of these conversations.

Talking Heads
I was a commissioning editor at VPRO. Talking Heads brings children into conversation with hairdresser Marko Suds as he cuts their hair. They talk about worries, friendship, love and growing up.
Series directed by Menno Otten, produced by Keplerfilm for VPRO.
The series won the Prix Jeunesse International in 2020 and the Rose d’Or for Children and Youth in 2022.
